Fillers, spillers and thrillers on the roof top of QUT

Susan Loh, a creative and enthusiastic Architect with an incredibly green thumb and love of the environment, and I launched a new roof top garden last week investigating the benefits of increased biodiversity for key ecosystem functions, insect diversity, biomass production (with some edible species!) and human well being. We have carefully chosen a mix of native species and hardy exotics and are using some high-tech probes to track changes over time.

This is a really exciting pilot study that we hope will provide important theoretical and applied results.
